Graovsko

Graovsko is....I don't know anything about it. Someone please tell us. Music Theorists, Folklore Scholars, Natives - why does the melody sound like bragging or telling someone off? Why does incite beatboxing in those who possess the skillz? The music and costumes from Shop always seem to me the wildest and most pagan.

Perhaps I'll share something. The Greek sirtaki, the French-Argentinian tango and the Spanish-Gypsy flamenko are products of the 20-th century - artificial and polished to provoke questions like "Please tell me how it can be so artistic and beautiful, and skilly?!"
Bulgarians are the only people who were SLAVES for 500 years and managed to survive save and rebuild coutry and religion. Moreover they were inslaved by the most illiterate part of the Islam.
Greeks were allowed church. Romanians made a deal and paid taxes. Serbs practically had a vassal kingdom with church and all. Albanians converted to islam in a couple of years.
The Serbs and Romanians are the Gypsy brass section of the Austria-Hungarian empire.
Graovo is the furthest point to the west from Istanbul. The music, clothes and dancing must have been kept as in the very old paganic days (major branches of heresy in Europe came from Bulgaria). So here the severe playing and dancing is showing off weapons and capabilities(not in this very compiled track). It might not be Orthodoxy but Paganism that saved Bulgarity. By the way it is the only Paganism in the world that presumed and spread the faith of Monotheism before Jews did.
And we must not forget that these telling off players and dancers in the playlist are people who lost The WW 3 (cold war) and from strong and confident people were switched to the endless position of the poorest nation in Europe.
